How to join the YouTube Partner Program

Choose the route for the features you want. Earlier access is not full ad-revenue access. Prepare the account, apply in Studio and read its real status. Keep future changes with their effective dates. Do not mix a number from an old guide with a benefit from another route. Meeting a count does not mean the review is passed.

Sections11

To join the YouTube Partner Program, start in Studio Earn. Check the current rules for your channel. Counts are only part of the process. Account rules, terms and review also matter. A tool or outside service cannot approve the channel for you.

How to join YouTube partner program: check program availability

The official Partner Program overview lists country and account rules. Confirm that the program is available where the channel's creator lives. A viewer audience in an eligible country does not by itself settle the creator's eligibility.

Use the actual Google account and channel you intend to monetize. If you manage several channels, confirm the selected one before reading progress or starting an application. A public counter on the wrong channel is not useful evidence for the application in front of you.

Understand the relevant eligibility route

The current full ad-income route describes 1,000 subscribers with either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days. The watch-hours route and Shorts-view route are alternatives with different measures. They are not the same counters.

The expanded program page describes earlier access to certain features in eligible locations. Its lower entry route is not a statement that all ad-income features are available at the same threshold. Read which benefits and terms belong to each route.

Question Where to check
Is the program available to me? Official availability and account requirements
Which activity qualifies? The exact route and official counter definitions
What features does this route unlock? Current program and feature-specific help
Have I met the channel's progress condition? Studio Earn for the selected channel
Am I accepted? The actual application and review state

Keep future notices in their own period

The official pages announce changes for February 2027. Read the date and required action in your account. Keep future rules apart from past reports. A later change does not show which rule applied to an earlier period.

When planning ahead, retain the policy link and date alongside the plan. Recheck before applying or relying on an old saved scenario. A correct arithmetic estimate does not update its eligibility assumptions when the platform changes its terms.

Prepare channel and account requirements

Read each account rule in the overview. You need to follow channel policies and have no active Community Guidelines strikes. Turn on 2-Step Verification and check advanced-features access. Link an active AdSense for YouTube account, or use the Studio setup route. This list does not check your account for you.

Do not create extra payment accounts just to try again. Follow the official Studio route. If a step fails, keep the exact message. Resolve that issue through official help. Do not assume a new account is the right fix.

Review the channel as a whole

Entry rules is not just a count beside one successful video. Read the channel monetization policies and inspect the channel's actual work. Rights, originality and other content rules matter across the publishing process.

AI does not remove those duties. It may help with a draft or edit. The finished work still needs to meet the rules. Our AI guide explains original work, reuse and disclosure. A tool cannot approve the channel.

Apply from YouTube Studio

Open Studio and choose Earn. If the actual account offers Apply Now for the applicable route, follow the displayed process. The overview describes accepting the base terms and linking or setting up the appropriate AdSense for YouTube account, followed by review.

Read each step's status. Starting an application is different from completing the required setup, and entering the review queue is different from acceptance. Keep the account messages and dates for your own records. A guide cannot infer the state from the time elapsed since you clicked.

Do not hand credentials to an application service

Use official account pages. No third-party service can promise approval by collecting a password, recovery code or a fee. A paid creator tool also cannot make a channel exempt from the review process. Treat such a promise as unsupported.

Review, acceptance and rejection

YouTube reviews the channel under the current program process. The overview describes a typical review period but also notes possible delays. A typical duration is not a promised deadline for an exact account. Read Studio for the actual state instead of repeatedly submitting or creating a new account.

If an application is rejected, use the stated reason and the official appeal or reapplication guidance. Those routes have terms and time limits. Do not guess a deadline from an old forum post or edit the channel blindly without understanding the found issue.

Acceptance is also not the end of policy compliance. Earning features can require their applicable modules and continuing terms. Read the actual agreements and channel notices. A one-time acceptance does not show that every future video or view qualifies to earn.

Check the current official rules

Before acting, open the overview, the applicable route and the feature-specific policy. Confirm the dates and the selected channel. If a requirement is unclear, use the official help route and the actual account notice rather than relying on a calculator to decide eligibility.

For a watch-time plan, the watch-hours calculator can show the math from genuine viewing assumptions. It does not show valid public hours. For the difference, read valid public watch hours.

Read the application state without guessing at the outcome

Use the selected channel's Earn area for the actual state. A message that invites an application is different from a message that says review is complete. Keep the wording and date in your own notes. Do not infer acceptance from a public view count or a button in a third-party tool.

If a required step is incomplete, follow the link from Studio for that step. Check the account shown before you continue. You may be able to read a channel report without having the role needed to finish payment setup. The person who controls that step should use the official route. Do not pass a password around the team to work around the role boundary.

When a notice is unclear, ask a narrow support question. Include the exact state and the step that failed. Keep private identifiers inside the official support flow. A general calculator cannot inspect a failed agreement or approve a channel for you.

After acceptance, check which features and modules are actually available. A program state and a revenue feature are related, but they are not the same field. Read the terms for the feature before relying on its revenue. This also keeps the earlier-access route from being mistaken for full ad sharing.

Review the announced Partner Program terms change

YouTube says updated Partner Program terms take effect from February 1, 2027, with acceptance in Studio required by January 31, 2027 to continue full monetization. Use the official overview and the terms shown to your channel. Reaching a numerical application threshold does not complete that acceptance step.

FAQ

Does meeting a numerical threshold guarantee acceptance?

No. It is part of the eligibility route, not a substitute for account terms, policy compliance and review. Use Studio Earn and follow the actual application process. A public count, a calculator estimate or a tool score cannot show that the channel has been accepted into the program.

Can I use the lower entry route for full ad revenue?

Read which features belong to that route. Expanded earlier access and full ad-income eligibility have different terms and benefits. Do not combine the threshold from one with the features of another. The current official pages and actual account offer are the sources for the decision.

If you manage several channels, read the channel name on each setup screen. A completed step for one channel does not prove the same step is complete for another.

Decision

To join the YouTube Partner Program, follow the official route for the features you want and the channel's actual state. Keep progress, application, review and acceptance distinct. Prepare the work and account rules before treating any number as permission to earn.
